1. Click "start".

2. Click "Turn Off Computer".

3. Click “Restart". After Windows shuts down and your computer restarts, start pressing the F8 key on your keyboard until the boot menu appears (shown below).

4. Use the arrow keys on your keyboard to select “Safe Mode”, and then press “Enter". You may see a screen before or after this one that asks you to select the operating system to start. In most cases, there is only one, and you can proceed simply by pressing "Enter". If there is more than one, then select the appropriate one.

5. Login to the "Administrator" account.

6. Click "Yes" to proceed in safe mode.

7. Click "Start".

8. Click "My Computer".

9. Open the drive Windows is installed on (almost always "C:").

10. Alternate-click (right mouse button) on the "WINDOWS" folder, and select "Properties".

11. Click the "Security" tab.

12. Select your username under "Group or user names".

13. Under "Permissions for (username)", tick the "Allow" checkbox corresponding to "Full Control".

14. Click "Apply".

15. Click "OK".

16. Close the Explorer window by clicking the "X" button at the upper-right-hand corner of the window.

17. Click "Start".

18. Click "Turn Off Computer".

19. Click "Restart".
